Fishing and Hunting

Whitney Bay is famous for its beauty and its fishing. Since the bay is completely protected you can always get out and fish. Smallmouth Bass, Perch, Northern Pike and Cisco abound (Cisco season is very busy!). Lake Trout and Salmon are caught just outside of the bay in the St. Mary's River, and there is a Salmon Fest held every August offering prizes for the largest fish caught. We also have bait, tackle, and rental boats ready for a day or week of fishing. Fall hunting includes: Ducks, Partridge, Woodcock and Deer. Spring is known for Smelt fishing and excellent Morel mushroom picking.

Watersports

In addition to camping, hunting, fishing, and boating, Fort Drummond Marine and Resort also allows many kinds of water sports in the immediate bay surrounding it. These include swimming - including a floating swim raft - paddleboating - one is available for use on the beach - and anything else you can bring to the marina or drive/pilot into it (as long as rules are observed).
